The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The influential video game developer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.
