Canada's Blue Jays Claim World Series Showdown With the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Astros claiming the championship in 2017.

Canada's MLB team earned a spot in their first World Series following 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the ALCS.

Trailing 3-1, Springer delivered a three-run homer in the seventh frame, guiding the Toronto squad in MLB to a four games to three victory in the best-of-seven series. Awaiting them are the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the current crown, in the anticipated World Series.

"It's incredible for this squad, Toronto, Canada," Springer stated, a star of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 World Series. "This is such an incredible feeling."

Springer has now connected for 23 total playoff homers, placing him third in history behind Manny Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"I can't think of another person in the world that I want up in that moment except for George Springer with his playoff prowess," noted manager John Schneider.

Seattle's team, after leading the early in the series, remain the one club that has never reached in a Fall Classic.

Wilson said "there's no question that it's painful" after his side's defeat at their home ballpark, but applauded their work throughout the year.

"This is a unique group. It's a shame that we ended up on the losing end of this one," he remarked.

Toronto won the title on both previous visits in the early 90s, and will welcome the Los Angeles in game one on this Friday.
