British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the champion in the following the terrible crash.
