Barça to Host Historic Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
