On Monday, the court heard communication data and information obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout that period.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a vacation in Portugal - is considered the most publicized child disappearance cases and continues to be open.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One recorded message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm fat and plain like Madeleine was, but I know what I believe."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording said: "What if there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What then? Is that not crucial for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a living here in Poland, I only wish to know," she added.

The jury was informed that via electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with law enforcement who gathered the information, informed the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted close associates of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, the father responded to a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will persist and I will prove my point."

Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted via messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be considered genuine in the period preceding the visit to Rothley, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court learned communications between the two accused, in November 2024, discussing endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's genetic material from her bins or from utensils at a eating establishment.

"We need to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their home, the defendant transmitted a communication which said: "We're currently positioned outside the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark resembling detectives. I had hoped to achieve this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
